Thanks to Jonathan Perkins from the Sprint 15 Association

On behalf of the Sprint 15 Association we would like to record a huge vote of thanks to Jonathan Perkins, our webmaster of the last 7 years. Jonathan was our first and only webmaster until he stepped down a few weeks ago and Martin Searle took over. So Jonathan created virtually everything that you see on our website, which is generally reckoned to be one of the best in the UK sailing world. Many of us take it for granted but it is always mentioned as being a significant factor when new people buy a Sprint 15. How many other classes can offer such a user friendly and comprehensive web site? It includes all the results the last 7 years, details of the programme of events for the future year including details of how to get to each venue, many helpful articles on how to sail the boat, a buyers guide to help buy second hand boats, a list of boats for sale, details and news about the new boat supply from Collins of South Africa & Windsport our boat importer, details of the clubs and contacts where to find Sprint 15s sailed, a very active chat page with all the messages of the last 7 years and a search engine to help you find them, a full parts list, the class rules, supplier information (for spares, repairs, insurance,etc.), many photos and much more besides. It truly shows what an active and vibrant class we are. Jonathan created and fashioned all of this on the website and it is a credit to him how well it is all implemented and how it has stood the test of time.

Last year Jonathan found that the conflicts of a busy work life, a growing family and his new love (a Caterham 7 sports car) progressively left little time for sailing and he sold his Sprint 15 (#1938). More recently these factors together with illness in the family caused him to be unable to carry on with the website. So we thank him for his huge amount of work and wish him well for the future while welcoming Martin Searle to take over from Jonathan. We hope we may see Jonathan sailing the Grafham Club boat from time to time and feel sure that Martin is going to carry on in a similar style as Jonathan.
