Sails [Quintessence]

A set of sails that came with my Dart 15 are not originals, but knockoffs produced by a reputable sail maker here in Hong Kong. They seem to be in pretty good shape, but aren't made from exactly the same material as the regulation main and jib. I'm reluctant to shell out the money for a new/used set unless there's likely to be a somewhat significant difference in performance.

Any thoughts?

So long as you do not take part in official Dart 15 events it is your choice. For Fun sailing, cruising, friendly racing, etc. then they may be OK. You just will not be eligible for any serious competitive racing as your sails do not comply with the class rules.
