Dart 15 Multi Purchase - Lower Prices

Post by mrblue1991 »

Good Morning all,

Dart 15 Association Mulit Purchase Arrangement with Windsport

At the recent AGM there was a proposal for the association to negotiate an improved price on new Dart 15 based upon a quantity purchase.

● For a total purchase of two or more Dart 15 a £1000 discount. £13,500 Sport Model

● For a total purchase of more than 5 Dart 15 a £1500 discount. £13,000 Sport Model

● A 10% discount on all Dart 15 parts (trolley, Covers, etc) when purchased with a new Dart 15.

● The option to trade in your existing Dart 15 with Windsport to reduce the overall price.

● £2000 deposit to be paid to secure a Dart 15 with the balance due upon delivery date agreed with Windsport in either 2025 or early 2026.

If you are interested, please in the first instance contact myself (Paul Tanner) by email at

Any news on how many new boats were sold on this promotion?

Good question Bob.

Seeing as it was me that pushed for this initiative again at the 2025 Bridlington Nationals, I picked it up from our Chairman & had x5 new Dart 15 boat packages confirmed. These were to be the boats with sprint kit, big wheel trolley & handle, full boat cover & rudder covers with the option to include another mainsail or whatever. I requested -15%.

Disappointingly the deal was turned down by Windsport & what happened then I have no idea. There were recently a couple of good newer design boats for sale, so maybe these have now changed hands as a result of the deal collapsing.

You managed a group buy more than once back in the day & it's a shame we cannot manage the same today. The lack of new boat sales will inevitably mean only one thing.

Oh & Merry Christmas folks.

Oh dear, no new boat sales when 5 were in the bag? :(

Perhaps the margin on new boats isn't what it is on class legal sails? :?

I was told zero price reduction 'possible' on a new sail as an additional item to the boat package Charles.

Make your own opinion on that!!

From a conversation I had yesterday, it seems x2 of the 5 new boat people have since bought newer used boats & the other 3 including me gave up on the idea.

The association & Windpsort need to 'bang their heads together' as the lack of appetite to progress new boat sales will only lead to an inevitable end over time.

I'll not be at the 2026 AGM so suggest this topic is discussed & not ignored which is what I actually think will happen.
