Seasalter TT May21/22

Post by Steve Willis »

Hi all,

We are looking forward to seeing friends old and new for the SSC TT. Weather indications are currently varied but none predict the high winds of the last two years' TTs at SSC, thank goodness.

The NOR is on the Events page, thanks to Liam, and that gives information on the event, camping and meals available. As usual we will be happy to arrange early arrival and late departure of boats/campers - contact me or Joan. In any event the club, galley and bar will be open from about 5pm on Friday 20th - if you want a Friday evening meal then let me know beforehand if possible.

If you want to save time on arrival you can download and complete the entry form and bring it with you.

Briefing on Saturday is at 11:20 with first race at about 11:50.

5 of the regular traveller visitors to SSC have already indicated they are coming, we hope you will join them.

As you will see from Brian Phipps's thread the Windsport support will be at SSC on the Saturday (21st) so get your orders in if you want things delivered to SSC for the weekend.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, when I can get out of the race tower.

Best wishes

Steve

Two of us planning to attend from Marconi - it coincides with our Push the Boat Out / Open Day which is occupying some of our other fleet members.

We are not intrepid enough to sail round like you guys did for the East Coast Piers Race last year though! But that might still be quicker than the Dartford Crossing on a Friday night .....

See you then

Forecast is F4-5 S/SW with possible F6 gusts later on Saturday. Possibly dropping and becoming variable on Sunday.

For SSC this should mean flat water with our normal cross offshore winds - fun time !

I hope it's not cold. Last time I went to England it was cold. I'm not used to it.

Exactly.

Marconi and Seasalter have set the bar very high for the other clubs for the rest of the season.

A big thanks to all the team at Seasalter for a brilliant event, great courses, great hospitality and enough to do to stop the rescue boats crews from getting board, including the honour of towing in our very own Chairman. Very nice to have a Seasalter "light winds" event :D

regards
