Post by Steve Willis »

Hi all,

Sorry, not sure where the Seasalter NOR has gone for this site.

Please find the NOR posted on the new SSC website at:

Hi

I’m really sorry but for the 2nd year in a row I’m not going to be able to make Seasalter due to family commitments.

It is not as the Finch brothers put it to me that I’m scared of the wind, which has been present in past years; more like I’m sacred of crashing into them again. :?

Also there was quite a bit of interest from Seasalter about going to Euro Cat, is any one still interested, there is still time as you can get on the tunnel and enter on the day, last year a few of the guys just parked their cars on the camp site next to ours and slept there just like a normal TT.

If you still want to go let me know or have a chat with Robert or Simon this weekend.

Cheers

Paul

Just do it. It's going to be great. You never know, you might win a free holiday, too! The Flying Phantom will be taking part again this year :D .

Sorry I won't be at Seasalter this weekend. Have to go away in the caravan. Saving myself for Carnac. That leaves Simon and Kevin to help out anyone at Seasalter who wants information about Eurocat. Maybe Steve Sawford will be there too?

Anyway, have a great weekend everyone :D .

Bloody windy and wavy
Club Members have been fantastic in terms of course setting, safety boats catering and launching and recovery
Paul Grattage first after day one by a country mile, Kevin Dutch second well ahead of the mere mortals and Mark Hollis third
Lighter winds tommorow so all to play for but Paul has to win race one so he can go in early giving time to pack up before Erling arrived so he can make his ferry
Lots of swimming no bangs I am aware of and quiet social underway

A weekend of two halves Sunday wind gone waves gone and sun out Erling stopped complaining having booked a later ferry and George Carter stayed on his boat after launching it. No change at he top Race one with Grattage first but then new name in the frame Chris Tillyer second and Steve Healey third. Shock horror last race Paul G had six boats ahead of him at the second mark and he could only recover to second being beaten by Mr Tillyer. So overall PG first CT second and Kevin Dutch third.

Great weekend if you were not there you missed out.

Hi Steve & Beryl,

Sorry I did not get back to you following your e-mail - been a busy week preparing. Hope the holiday is going well and we hope to see you next year.

I will be sitting in a darkened room with a whisky later, now I can relax.

Full report on Tuesday but for now 1st Paul Grattage (3 points) 2nd Chris Tillyer (7 points) 3rd Kevin Dutch (11 points) out of 25 boats. Full results later.

Everyone worked hard at enjoying themselves - great fleet as usual, our members turned out in force to help and really enjoy having the fleet at the club. Force 6 Saturday, Force 2 Sunday,

Thanks to everyone who came to sail and to watch, star event of our club year.

Best wishes

Steve

David means George Stephen, not George Carter. GS awarded the SSC prize medal for showing his remote controlled self sailer 1594 before the first race.

He did that at Grafham some years ago. Must be in the DNA of 1594 :D
