Mast water inside

Post by Kev192 »

has anyone got a cure for water in the bottom section of the mast, after recovering the boat from the sailing club i heard water sloshing around in the bottom section (alot) the top section seems ok, but no idea where it can have got in, the boat has not been inverted at all. so it must be from rain water only.
any ideas on how this can be resolved i would be grateful.

Kevin, I wrote a piece on this in 2004 that is in the tips section of this website
https://www.sprint15.com/faq/Leaky%20Masts.pdf
It is a bit dated. someone may have better ideas now.
Your boat (2007) will have a fibre glass joint section but the problem is the same.
Regards
Bob
