Lost Trophies

Post by Bob Carter »

We have lost our Summer Traveller Trophies.
Paul Gattage won both of them in 2016 but did not attend The Grafham Cat Open when they should have been presented.
They were given to someone to deliver to Paul but he has never received them and now we are having difficulty in finding where they are. So if you have these trophies somewhere and have forgotten about them can you please let us know. The details are below:

1 "Dart 15 Travellers Trophy" Medium sized silver trophy with black bakelite base
2 "Dart 15 Travellers Trophy" Small Silver trophy with light oak plinth
Many Thanks
Bob

Hopefully Liam will post the pictures of these trophies shortly....

That's what happens when you send a boy on a man's errand. :(

These trophies have not shown up yet. I'm just refreshing the item in the hope that someone knows where they are.....

Hello Bob,

It might be worthwhile posting a similar request on other catamaran websites. If the trophies were presented at the Grafham CatFest, it is perfectly possible that it was a non-Sprinter that promised to deliver to the winner.

Not sure where the Sport Nationals Pro Am cup is. Aaron says he was never given it last year. He shared it with Anthony Gray.

Perhaps those that win a cup/trophy should sign for them, just a thought

It is our practice for the amateur to hold the trophy for the year. If Aaron did not get it then perhaps Anthony Gray did. Have we asked him? The report says it was presented....

The Pro Am cup appeared as if by magic and has been awarded to Liam Bunclark with help from Fraser Manning.

Good show.
Any chance applying the same magic to the 2 traveller trophies?

CALL OFF THE SEARCH

Happily these traveller trophies have turned up. Our thanks go to Keith Newnham for searching high and low on the Isle of Wight and finding them safe and sound...

Phew! What a relief.

Well done Keith Newnham for your efforts in finding them for us. And thanks to Bob for establishing that they were missing.

It can be dispiriting when we lose the history that these trophies reppresent.
