Launching trolley bar extraction

Hi , does anybody know how to extract the tube that the trolley wheels rotate around . One of mine has unbelievably worn through and snapped off . It absolutely refuses to move and I have given up trying to get it out before I wreck the outer tube . I have sprayed a can of penetrating fluid onto joi...

Re: Draycote TT Saturday 10th Jan - Good wind

I have heard that In a blow is it better to use an old sail rather than a newer one as they do not power up so much ....is this an old wives tale :?:

Draycote TT Saturday 10th Jan - Good wind

Hi and happy new year to all , looks like a fab wind on Saturday ...19 knots and gusting  We have a number of novice Draycote sailors who will be joining us on Saturday . I wondered what the top sailors will be doing on Saturday to combat the wind and keep going the right way up , I know that ...

Re: Sprint 15 Nationals NDYC - 6 - 8 June 2014

Hi , Ed and I will be arriving on Thursday evening representing Draycote , we will enter on the day but please count us in for entertainment on Friday and Saturday night , looking forward to it . Fortunately Ed and I don't need to eat any pies , our only worry is will the trapeze wires take the stra...

Re: New PY numbers for 2014

I continue to sail in sport mode at Draycote and regularly sail against uni rig boats . On Sunday we started a sprint 15 fleet competition and got 8 boats competing on Easter Sunday - not bad ! Even though two sails and a trapeze look like a huge advantage , I struggle to beat good uni rig sailors r...

Re: Almost capsize

Mark, I feel the same about my recovery , apparently this picture featured on face book for a couple of days . The good news it that the Sprint 15 team at Draycote often entertain the rest of the club who sensibly stay in the bar when its blowing , whilst we perform for their entertainment  . I...

Almost capsize

Well it has been windy recently and I thought I was in for a swim when I pitch poled  Inexplicably I managed to recover from this position without capsizing and dry  A case of hanging onto the rear beam and not letting go . Hope you are all well and enjoying windy weekends

Re: Draycote Winter TT Sat. 5th Jan.

Robert , great video's :D I think I enjoyed the sequel , Draycote race 2 a little bit more than Draycote race 1 . I have gleaned a great insight into your sailing technique including excellent tacking and rudder control and special knots in your traveller sheet . Genuinely interesting to see how it ...

Re: Keeping my rudders up !

Thanks for the advice Brian and Karl , I have now patched up my rudder blades and tried filing out the locking wheel slots . To be honest I am nervous to file too much of this section away in case I make things worse . I will try repaired rudders and go for the retaining bungee aswell which is a gre...

Keeping my rudders up !

Folks , I am currently repairing my rudder tips for the 3rd time in 12 months :( For some reason when I haul my boat out of the water and drag it up the slip way with the rudders in the upright position they invariably drop to the floor and damage rudder tips . The cross bar and tiller are connected...
