Re: Sprint15 rubber rudder stop

Hi Chris, I have done about 20 rudders with evostik, it seems to last for a year or two - I check them each winter and reglue if necessary (I use quite firm neoprene gasket material rather than rubber. On a few I have had to use a double layer to get it so the blade does not move fore/aft but latche...

Re: Seasalter SC Traveller 9/10 August

Many thanks to all our visitors over the weekend at Seasalter. It is a great event for promoting the class to our growing membership and over a third of our club members were involved in helping and watching. Hopefully by next time a number of our newer fleet members will be ready to take part. Than...

Re: Seasalter SC Traveller 9/10 August

Thanks to all for letting us know who can and cannot make the SSC event - always a help to judge numbers. We are keeping an eye on the forecast movement of the dying hurricane from the US which currently looks like giving gusty weather on Sunday. If we get F8 again I will begin to think the wind god...

Re: Seasalter SC Traveller 9/10 August

Hi Stewart, Sorry you cannot make it - it sounds hectic for you, best wishes to you and yours. Thanks for the comments, I sincerely hope we do not have F8 again so that we can get more boats on the water and my stress levels in the tower will be lower whilst keeping an eye on everyone's safety. We w...

Re: 56th Round Isle of Sheppey Race

If anyone who is coming to the SSC TT intends to also do the IOSSC race is welcome to leave their boat at SSC after the TT if it is any help - just let me know.

Joan and I have 3 spaces in the field while our boats are on the beach for the summer and there are others.

Re: National Championship

I believe all the SSC contingent are driving (mostly doubled up) and arriving Friday or early Saturday. Several did a recce to Southend by water from SSC on Thursday - and returned via Gillingham (11 hours and a couple of inversions..........). Nice row of packed trailers in the field after yesterda...

Re: National Championship

Never seen so much activity in the ssc boat field as today except when the TT is on. Boat alignment table now worn out, gel coat repairs drying and conbars and rudders sorted on 10 boats. Double stacked trailers ready and it looks like we will be fielding 10 at Thorpe Bay. Club fleet now 30 with ano...

Re: Sprint 15 Training weekend ?

Thanks Bob and Simon, I will sort out some possible dates this coming weekend with our instructor team. I have another 'away' helm already interested as well. Hopefully the TT will be less arduous this year. The other fleets are growing as well and we now have 2 Topaz 14C/CX in the cat fleet and thi...

Sprint 15 Training weekend ?

Hi all, The Seasalter SC Sprint 15 fleet continues to grow, with 3 more recent arrivals we now have 29. As a number of our newer helms (either to the club or the fleet) will be needing a training weekend sometime, is there any interest from other fleet members in joining us if we sort out a suitable...

SSC = close call with the storms

Hi all, I hope everyone is OK after the flooding. We had a tense time last night having been given the severe flood warning for Seasalter and everyone being evacuated from parts of Faversham Road. The EA dropped off sandbags for all the houses and the club. I watched the tidal gauges along the east ...
