Re: Grafham Winter TT - 12th March - Entries Open

Well done to Mark for being the 4th different winner of the series. I am guessing there was a bit of breeze.

And congratulations to Jenny for taking the winter series following on from the summer series.

I have put the scores up.

Re: Dart 15 for family use

It is big enough but it will be very, very slow and it will stress the boat. You will be constantly buying rivets for the trampoline tracks.

The answer is buy two of them.

Re: Datchet TT - Sunday 12th February

I got Dave's pictures before I had got on the ferry and Jenny had sent me a report a few hours later. Ruthless efficiency as ever.

Re: Datchet TT - Sunday 12th February

I am fairly new to the internet so can't work out how to enter.

How did the three of you manage it? I just get a "please fill in all the required fields" notice.

Re: Slippy shackles

All over the place. Maybe people are being cruel and loosening them when I am not looking.

It was a very long way back after the last race of the Sport Nationals without the main sheet block attached to the traveller.

Has anybody else noticed that newer shackles are not staying locked even when tightened with pliers? I have taken to using thread lock fluid to keep shackles done up.

I have in the past had boats come from behind (overtaking) & turn upwind into me with a shout of windward, but if I'm not moving or going very slowly not much I can do.
You could say "protest" back to them.

Re: Starting Rules

If Jason's rudders were hard over I don't see what more he could do. You can only luff to head to wind, you can't force a tack.

Re: Starting Rules

You also have to have the time and opportunity to get out of the way. The pivot point of a boat is somewhere round about the middle of the boat so you can't luff unless your bow is past midships on the boat to windward. Otherwise if you get a four inch overlap and shout "up", the other boa...

Re: Tramp slider broken

This is what you need: https://www.windsport.co.uk/product/trampoline-slide-suitable-for-d18-sp15-d20-extra-strong-allen-style-also-can-be-used-for-d16-toestraps-in-front-beam/ They are pretty strong but they don't last forever. I would recommend putting in twice as many as you actually need. Then w...

The Sprint 15 is supposed to be one design and the masts are made of aluminium.
