Re: New sail

The best Sprint 15 sail I have ever seen had a picture of Pooh Bear being lifted up by a string of balloons (sail no. 1862 but the only pic on the website has the boat without said main on it). It was by a member of Herne Bay SC and was always easy to spot on the water from my usual back of fleet po...

Re: OTT

This is the trophies record on this website. I will update it with the additional info provided by Bob. Looks like Nick won it twice once in 1986 and the other in 1994 (at saundersfoot, which was my first nationals). http://www.sprint15.com/events/EMS/trophiesviewer.php (choose Over the Top Action a...

Re: Nationals

Driving directions for Pentewan Sands Sailing Club have been added to the Club's page, the first bit is the MOST important bit since if you do go down Porthpean Road (Like I did in 2009) you end up going down a 1 in 3 hill with a very narrow road into the village not recommended! (fortunately it was...

Dart 15 No. 1?

Folks,

I wonder what happened to Sprint\Dart 15 no. 1? Dart 18 no. 1 is in the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, Cornwall. Perhaps they might like a nice early example of the 15, think mine being 1331 (built 1988) is a bit too late a number ;)

Re: Nick Dewhurst

It's been a big shock today, he was instrumental for me buying my boat and being involved with the class association. He was a larger than life character and involved with everything.

Re: Seasalter TT

Certainly this weekend taught me that what can go wrong will! with my sail not wanting to hook at the top of the mast on Sunday then battens deciding to come undone. All in all more preparation (it was first time I have put it on the water since the nationals last year) and debugging needed b...

Racing Rules available on Tips page

Folks, I have added in a section on the tips page: http://www.sprint15.com/faq.php that provides a number of links to Racing Rules and a short one page summary of the basic rules needed for racing. ISAF updated the rules this year and thus the rules for 2013-16 are now available a few things have be...

Re: 1331

Still being sailed at Seasalter, for one reason or another (GF, Bad knee, GF! ) it didn't get as much use as I'd like last season with the laser being used more than the dart. After the nationals I never re-rigged it :( but hope to get more sailing done this year.

Re: Captain Calamity

 saw it in the daily mirror last week and spent sometime looking at the boat since the number is very large for a 15 at 4090, thats more an 18's number. Yes he really does seem to need to belong to a club with a patrol boat to rescue him when he gets in strife rather than calling out the lifebo...

Website updates

Folks,

These may take another week to do as currently I am recovering from an operation to a rather worse for wear knee which hopefully will be healed by the start of the sailing season in march. Pesky arthritis

Re: Newsprint Autumn 2012 and Membership Subs

Folks, Personally I like printed copies of the mag as I don't like reading lots of stuff on a screen but can see that web distribution is a viable way of doing it and is also a lot cheaper. Distributing the magazine by web is possible but at 250mb a copy then that may prove inconvient for many to do...
