Nationals Arrival and pre weekend sailing

Hi, We are travelling down towards Thorpe Bay today. #2008 on the van roof and caravan behind. Camping at a Camping and Caravan Club 5 caravan site near Rayleigh. Wondering if it would be possible to bring our Sprint 15 to the Thorpe Bay dinghy park, ideally tomorrow (Tue) and sail from there for th...

Re: Discounted Nationals Entries close this Friday ....

Jenny,

I'd love to think I'll lose 3kg in the next 2 weeks but it isn't very likely. So could the entries be updated to include me in the heavyweight category.

Thanks

Re: Entries for the 2017 Sprint 15 Nationals are now open!

Thanks both for the replies. Sorry been frantically busy rebuilding a house for our sons. I've found some tiny caravan sites (5 caravans max) that are nice and close so it is only the boat that will need to be at the club for the extra time. If we can move the caravan on site for the event that woul...

Re: Entries for the 2017 Sprint 15 Nationals are now open!

Hi, Jane and I are coming. Although unless we manage to lose around 60kg between us by then I'll be racing single-handed :-) Q: This comes at the end of a weeks holiday. Would it be possible to keep our Sprint 15 in the Dinghy park and sail from Monday 17th to the end of the Nationals? As we will be...

Re: Instow sailors here?

Hi Dave Sorry your plans did not work out this time - but have you considered capturing some of your previous exploits to go into the Association magazine? It would make a great read and George Love (editor) is looking for materials for the next edition. Apologies if you have already been tapped up...

Re: Instow sailors here?

A quick update.

We got a quick and helpful response from the Club.

Sadly the tide restrictions and the tide times next week rule out sailing from Instow next week, unless we fit navigation lights :-(

Easier roof rack loading

Hi, Just been testing getting #2008 onto our new van roof. Thought it might be of interest to others as now a single person can load a hull onto our Citroen Dispatch van without needing to ever lift more than half the weight of a hull. Needed: - Roof rack. We have British made Rhino KammBars which a...

Instow sailors here?

Hi, We are spending a few days holiday near Bideford from Monday 27th March (our van is having rear seats, a floor, leisure battery and usb sockets fitted at ww.camperliners.co.uk ). Any Sprint 15 sailors from Instow on here? We want to bring our Sprint 15 #2008 down on the van roof and store in the...

New toys

Received several new toys today. Gone for a big wheel trolley with knobbly tires and a handle from Windsports (hoping for some sailing from a beach near Bideford, Devon end of the month). Plus the appropriate skeg protectors. Also some extras as we have changed car to a Citroen Dispatch van. So the ...

Re: Draycote Winter TT - Saturday 14th January

Looking forward to tomorrow! I've just been reassembling #2008 on the trailer after her trip on the car roof to Cornwall. That reminded me that to counteract all this stuff about weight I have two big advantages for the races tomorrow: 1. I now have the longest stick in the fleet for tensioning my t...

Re: Off to Cornwall for some sailing in the morning

Another fantastic sail. Mostly gentle with just the mainsail for Jane and I. Sunny but cold. I wore 3 thermal long sleeve tops, a cycling fleecy top. Fleece onsie and drysuit. On Strava at https://www.strava.com/activities/818910701/shareable_images/map_based?hl=en-GB&v=1483378230 Very short vid...

Great video and yes it is an awesome place to sail. We've had our Sprint 15 based at Pascoes this week week. Saw an 18 out on Wednesday but nobody today.

New Year's Day sail.

Went out with my 13 year old nephew for his first catamaran sail.

Broke our personal speed record, our top speed is now 18.1 mph
