Re: Erling

A sad day for us all. Erling was a true stalwart of the fleet. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. One of my favourite memories is Erling and myself trying to get the results entered into the website during the first night of the Pentewan nationals in 2009 in the middle of the village ...

Re: 3 race TT scoring

Folks, Personally 3 races is too small a number for a discard, you normally kick in a discard with 4 races sailed in a series at club level. I think TT's should be scored normally in accordance with RYA\ISAF scoring which is well understood. The overall TT series is scored in accordance with those r...

Re: Newsprint is Dead!!!, long live e-Newsprint???

I'd offer a slight contrarian view. I'm happy to support the paper newsletter through my subs. However, I'd very much want to encourage all the content to be available on the association site. Ideally as individual articles tagged so that we can find them in multiple ways. a) as a newcomer it would...

Re: Sport Nationals

Please ignore the Pro-Am results on the web site. Erling has fiddled it differently to how the web site has calculated it. Hi Liam, Technical content ahead for the non techies! ;) That happens a lot so I ended up unchecking the box in the admin for that sub comp for most of the last nationals, as t...

Re: Team event at TT's

Excellent idea. Only problem is the new webmaster hasn't a clue how the present scoring system works without trying to edit it. HI Liam, The TT series scoring system is the simplest of the two, the nationals is a lot more complicated because it records each individual race results, overall results,...

Re: Sprint 15 Speed data

I have used a Garmin Foretrex GPS for a number of years. The top speed I get is around 18mph in Una Rig, F5, Flat sea and normally on the reach, current is variable but then I am a mite heavy ;). Waves on very strong wind days normally prevent too high a speed being attained before sailor talent run...

Re: Nationals 2015

Folks,

Sorry for having to dash off after getting the Peter Mayne Trophy yesterday but I had learned that my mother had been taken to A&E in Canterbury and needed to return as soon as I could back home.

She is now on the mend in Hospital.

Re: Nationals 2015

I won't be going with the boat this year due to work commitments but plan to leave work ASAP (4.30ish) on Friday to get there for the evening, will the gate etc be open about 6 or 7pm?

At least I'll be able to have a wander around Portsmouth's tourist traps for a bit on Saturday :D

Re: Seasalter "Here We Come"

Will be down at the weekend but won't be sailing due to the Swimathon being on the Saturday, its for a charity that's very pertinent to me at the moment.

Folks,

Looks like I will be on the sick bench, my back has given up the ghost again. I will be down though and will be helping out where I can.
