Netley is a thriving family orientated sailing club located within a country park on the edge of Southampton Water on which  most club racing takes place as can open meetings with the option of using the easily accessible Solent when required.  Racing takes place every weekend Easter to Christmas with midweek racing weekly on summer evenings.  The club is very welcoming and provides RYA training in both sailing and powerboating for all members interested in the like.  It also has a thriving youth section and a Dart 16 is amongst the Club owned fleet of boats.

The secluded position away from roads makes the Club both tranquil and safe for families and the club owned camping field is well used, at no cost for Club Members, throughout the summer.  A variety of boats are regularly raced and sailed with Dart 18’s and 15’s being the mainstay of the catamaran fleet.  There are at present five 15’s three of which race regularly with one of them regularly taking part in Sprint 15 Association events.  David Groom the 15 Association Membership Secretary is a Member and regular competitor and attends most weekends when he is not away doing open events.

The Club is hosting the 2015 Sprint 15 Nationals next August and is keen to encourage Members to take part.  This includes some regular Dart 18 Competitors who are proposing to beg, borrow or steal boats so as to take part.  Racing will be off the Club and easily viewed by supporters and the Club will provide the full range of support and social services throughout the long weekend.  Camping, including camper vans, will be available at a cost and “other halfs” and families  can be encouraged to attend by the fact that the club is located in a major touirist area adjacent to the New Forest and within easy reach of Southampton for shopping and social facilities.

Plans are afoot for a major revamp of Club facilities notably the replacement of the Clubhouse but this is unlikely to take place before after the 2015 sailing season.

Temporary memberships are available including day passes so the Club would encourage people to give it a go especially those who want to do a bit of sneaky practice before next years main event!!
